West Linn sees five players, Jon Eagle win top awards for ’22 season.
They were the best.
Indeed, they were the best of the best.
“They” are the Three Rivers League football all-stars for 2022. And for this year — a year with two TRL teams in the Class 6A state semifinals — the TRL’s best were very, very good.
Lions, Pacers, Lakers earn all-TRL volleyball honors
All three teams have players recognized on the all-Three Rivers League first team.
There’s no two ways about it — Oregon City ruled the day in Three Rivers League volleyball in 2022.
The TRL champion Pioneers — they also finished fifth at the Class 6A state tournament — landed two players on the all-league first team and also won and shared the league’s top two awards.
But West Linn, Lakeridge and Lake Oswego made their marks, too, with the Lions seeing two players earn first-team berths, the Lakers get two and the Pacers one.
Lakeridge dominates all-Three Rivers boys soccer
The Pacers see Alan Cox, Zac Levin and Chase Nelson sweep top honors.
There’s no two ways about it — it was a great year in Three Rivers League boys soccer.
And the best players from Lakeridge, Lake Oswego and West Linn were a big reason why.
In total, 11 of the 13 first-team selections for 2022 were Pacers, Lakers or Lions. TRL champion Lakeridge led the way there, amassing five first-team selections and sweeping the league’s premier awards, with Alan Cox named Coach of the Year, senior forward Zac Levin named Player of the Year and senior Chase Nelson named Goalie of the Year.
Lake Oswego, West Linn pace all-TRL girls soccer
Tualatin senior Maya Loudd, West Linn coach Madison Gellos take top honors.
The Three Rivers League got after it in girls soccer this year.
The TRL sent all seven of its teams into the Class 6A state playoffs, saw all seven win in the first round, three advance to quarterfinals (including West Linn and Lake Oswego), three reach the semis (including West Linn and Lake Oswego) and (West Linn) one get to the state championship.
In response, the TRL’s best were rewarded on the 2022 Three Rivers League all-star teams. Tualatin senior forward Maya Loudd (who took her team into the semifinals) was named TRL Player of the Year, while West Linn coach Madison Gellos (who led her team to a league championship and state-title game appearance) was named Coach of the Year.
Lake Oswego’s Leo Cook, Ana Peters lead XC all-stars
The 2022 Three Rivers League district champions lead a talented field of XC stars.
They were the fastest.
They won the most.
And they came through when it counted.
“They” are the 2022 Three Rivers League cross country all-stars, a group led by Lake Oswego junior TRL district champion Leo Cook on the boys side and LO sophomore district champ Ana Peters on the girls side.
Lake Oswego, Lakeridge boys pace all-TRL polo honors
Lake Oswego’s Carlo Cremona wins his second straight Player of the Year award.
It was as simple as 1-2-3 in Three Rivers League boys water polo honors for 2022.
In this case, “1” meant Lake Oswego, “2” was for Lakeridge and “3” was Newberg, and those three teams dominated the 2022 Three Rivers League all-star selections.
The Lakers landed a league-high three players on the all-TRL first team, while the Pacers and Tigers had two first-teamers each. Further, the league-champion Lakers swept the TRL’s top honors with senior Carlo Cremona winning Player of the Year honors for a second straight time, while LO’s Bryan Hill was named Coach of the Year.
Pacers, Lakers lead the way in all-TRL girls polo
Lakeridge sees Ella Ferguson and Aukai Ferguson take the league’s top honors.
It was all about the “lake” in Three Rivers League girls water polo on 2022.
TRL champion Lakeridge landed three players on the 2022 all-Three Rivers League first team, while the second-place Lakers and third-place Newberg had two each.
The Pacers also swept the TRL’s top two awards, with junior Ella Ferguson named the TRL Player of the Year, while her coach and father, Aukai Ferguson, was named Coach of the Year.
