Mark Hamper made the Play of the Day to rejuvenate West Linn’s hopes against Sheldon.
It’s the moment that makes a difference.
It’s the key that separates victory from defeat.
It’s the Play of the Day.
In this case, for Thursday, Sept. 8, the Play of the Day came from West Linn senior wide receiver Mark Hamper in the Lions’ 35-31 loss to Sheldon at West Linn High School.
With the Irish ahead of the Lions 14-0 just 8 1/2 minutes into the game, Hamper teamed with senior quarterback Sam Leavitt to get his team back into the game. On the first play from scrimmage after the second Irish TD, Leavitt stepped up and hit Hamper down the left seam for a 73-yard touchdown that cut the Sheldon lead to a single score with 3:12 remaining in the first quarter.
