In this case, for Thursday, Oct. 6, the Play of the Day came from Lakeridge’s Nick Wittig during his team’s 2-0 win over West Linn at West Linn High School.
Lakeridge and West Linn battled on even terms through the game’s first 10 minutes, but the Pacers broke through to take a 1-0 lead soon thereafter. Junior Jacob Real started the night’s first scoring play with a corner kick from the right side. Junior Rafael Loyo knocked the ball toward the Lions’ goal and Wittig was there to convert the rebound into the game-winning goal at the left corner of the West Linn net with 28 minutes, 25 seconds remaining in the half.
