Lake Oswego believes it can win the Three Rivers League title this spring.
Team: Lake Oswego boys golf
Coach: Adam Ruben
Team Leaders: Junior Adam Wrenn (he was 13th at the Special District 2 regional in 2022), senior Tanner Frinell (he was seventh at regionals and 37th at the Class 6A state tournament), freshman Drew Woolworth, junior Adam Blackmore (second at regionals) and junior Braden Larsen (77th at state).
“Drew Woolworth (is) one of the best players in the country and easily best player in the state,” said Lake Oswego coach Adam Ruben, whose 2022 Lakers won the Special District 2 regional, qualified for the Class 6A state tournament and finished fifth there.
Regarding team captain Tanner Frinell, Ruben said that he “does a great job by leading by example with his everyday actions in school and practice.”
League Race: While the Lakers like their chances in 2023, they also know that Tigard will give them a stiff test in league play.
“Tigard has great depth, (but) I believe our team will fare very well in the league this year and have a good chance winning league,” Ruben added.
